About

I attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University in Boston, and continued studies in New York at the Art Students League and the New York Studio School.

In Boston I worked at the Vose  Galleries and Pucker Gallery, and with the exhibitions installation crew at the Institute of Contemporary Art.

On Nantucket Island I exhibited in one-person and group shows at The Artists Association of Nantucket and was a founding partner and exhibiting artist at The (x) Gallery, 1990-2000.

I taught classes in drawing, printmaking, and Photoshop for the Artists Association of Nantucket. As the AAN Arts Program Director, 1998-2000, I designed the education program, presented visiting artists and film programs, and organized multi-media exhibitions, “Lives of Nantucket” and “Exchange”

I served on the boards of AAN, the Nantucket Arts Alliance, as President of the Nantucket Cultural Council, and was a founding member and President of the Cross Rip Coffeehouse, 1995-1999.

In addition to this website I publish to two others, graham white /art·work for notes and observations on issues of process in making art, and lifedrawing.studio for the presentation of figure drawings and portraits done from life, and in the studio from memory.
